In short-distance travel scenarios, mobility scooters have become important tools due to their flexibility and convenience. Their performance stability and lifespan highly depend on standardized maintenance.A scientifically sound maintenance cycle not only reduces the risk of malfunctions but also protects user safety from the outset, making it a crucial aspect of industry operations and maintenance.

Daily basic checks should be a mandatory routine before each use. Key areas include tire pressure (must be within the vehicle's specified range to avoid abnormal tire pressure leading to steering drift or increased energy consumption), braking system sensitivity (lightly apply the brakes to observe response speed and any unusual noises), and the integrity of the lighting system (high beams, turn signals, and brake lights must all function normally). These checks are quick but targeted, promptly eliminating visible problems. It is recommended that the operator perform these checks themselves and develop a habit of recording the results.

Periodic deep maintenance should be carried out based on both mileage and time. Every 500 kilometers or within one month of use, clean the air filter (to prevent dust blockage and reduced intake efficiency), check the drive chain tension (too loose and it will slip, too tight and it will accelerate wear), and lubricate key joints (such as the steering shaft and pedal shaft). Every 2000 kilometers or every 3 months, a major maintenance check of the powertrain is required-check the battery electrolyte level (for lead-acid batteries), check the motor operating temperature (abnormally high temperatures may indicate aging wiring or overload), and tighten the circuit interface screws (to prevent poor contact and power outages). In addition, brake fluid should be changed every six months (it is highly hygroscopic and prolonged use can reduce braking performance), and tires must be replaced when the tread depth is less than 1.6 mm (this affects wet grip).

Vehicles parked for extended periods require a customized maintenance plan. If parked for more than 15 days, disconnect the battery negative terminal (to prevent depletion), inflate the tires to the maximum standard pressure (to reduce localized pressure deformation), and cover them with dust covers and store them in a dry, well-ventilated area. Start the vehicle once a month and drive at low speed for 5-10 minutes to ensure all components are in basic operating condition.

It is important to emphasize that maintenance cycles need to be dynamically adjusted based on the usage environment: air filter cleaning intervals should be shortened in dusty areas, and motor cooling checks should be strengthened in scenarios involving frequent uphill climbing. Industry practitioners and users should establish a "prevention-oriented" maintenance awareness, transforming passive repair into proactive protection through standardized processes, so that motorized mobility scooters can continue to deliver efficient and safe transportation value.
